Miss Black Georgia Executive Director

Carletta Hurt, Executive Director An alumnus of the United Way Volunteer Involvement Program (VIP) and serving as the president of the Atlanta/Southeast National Association of Black Female Executives in Music and Entertainment (NABFME), she is continuing to utilize her energy and expertise to empower women and young people. Carletta is an active volunteer and mentor serving on the Education Committee for NARAS, a big sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters, an adult advisor for the Hands On Atlanta Youth Service Advisory Board and executive director for Miss/Ms. Black Georgia USA.

As a testament to her love for youth, Carletta created IN THE LOOP Program of Success which coordinates the GIRLS Empowerment Seminar series and Paper Pushers, a writing program for teens. Through these programs and others, she has positively impacted over 150 girls in just a year.

Her desire to learn and grow propelled her into the television and video arena. She has developed filmmaking skills by working as production and casting assistants on Remember the Titans, Road Trip, Drumline and most recently The Fighting Temptations. On the small screen side, she served as Coordinator for the Youth Channel - Atlanta producing over 2 dozen programs and assisted in casting the Showtime network short, Land of the Free.

An award winning producer, a passionate youth advocate and dynamic leader, Carletta is young, vibrant, and motivated with a unique style.
